LINK-TO-LINK
SURFING WITH MICROSURFER
To explore the first
ten links on a search results page using your browser alone,
you
have to click on each link, wait for it to load in your browser,
view the resulting web page, and then use your browser's Back
button to return to the search-results page again to get to the
next link. Browsing those ten links means redisplaying the
original search Results page nine times, for a total browser
display of nineteen pages.
If each of those ten links
averages 30 seconds to download and another 30 seconds to read
once the page is displayed, you will have spent a total of
nineteen and a half minutes to view just those first ten link--with nearly three-quarters of your time spent waiting for
web pages to load and redisplaying pages you've already seen.
Using MicroSurfer, you don't
have to return to the search-results page because you capture
all ten links on your first visit, and then surf to each link
directly. Instead of viewing nineteen web pages using only your
browser, MicroSurfer downloads and displays only ten pages,
cutting the demand on your Internet connection almost in half
and eliminating the redisplay of previously visited web pages.
Since the links were downloading by MicroSurfer in the
background, they are displayed without waiting when you click on
them. Instead of spending nineteen and
a half minutes visiting the first ten links of a search results
page, you spend only five and a half minutes to visit the same
ten pages with MicroSurfer -- that's almost 400% faster!
