Overview
Using the web has become as much a part of our daily lives as much as the
telephone and fax machine. We use the web for a variety of tasks both personally and
professionally and with nearly 10 billion
pages on the web there is something for almost everyone. Yet with
the shear volume of information available on the web it can be
difficult to find specific, reliable information
quickly.
This
two-day, hands-on workshop is for those who wants to make better use
of the web and find information more efficiently. Participants learn
how to create search strategies, construct complex queries, make the
best use of available tools and much more.
In
addition to the basics we cover more advanced techniques and
resources for locating hard to find information quickly and easily. By the end of
this workshop participants are able to research most any topic faster and
more efficiently.
Taught
with numerous examples and leading edge software tools available
nowhere else, this workshop gives participants skills and resources
to take their web exploration to the next level of effectiveness.
Hands-on labs re-enforce key topics so what is learned is immediately
put to use.
